Algorithmic Readiness™
The organisational capability to be discoverable, evaluable, and transactable by AI agents.
Defintion
Algorithmic Readiness™ is a five-dimension dynamic capability framework measuring an organisation's capacity to compete in agent-mediated markets — where AI agents, not humans, evaluate and select suppliers.
Executive Summary
Most organisations today are digitally ready: they have websites, e-commerce platforms, and digital marketing programmes. Very few are algorithmically ready.
Digital readiness assumes human customers using digital channels. Algorithmic Readiness assumes algorithmic customers evaluating structured data autonomously. The distinction is fundamental — and the gap between the two is where competitive advantage will be won or lost in the Agentic Age.
Algorithmic Readiness, created by Paul F. Accornero, provides a five-dimension framework for assessing and building this capability.
Five Dimensions
1. Data Quality — The accuracy, completeness, and machine-readability of your product and service information. AI agents cannot evaluate what they cannot parse. Inconsistent specifications, missing data fields, and unstructured descriptions make your offering invisible to algorithms.
2. Discoverability — Your visibility to AI agents across all channels and data sources. This extends beyond SEO to include API accessibility, data feed quality, third-party database presence, and Agent Intent Optimisation (AIO).
3. Decisional Clarity — The ease with which an algorithm can evaluate and compare your offering against competitors. Clear categorisation, standardised attributes, and unambiguous specifications reduce computational friction.
4. Delivery Reliability — The consistency and verifiability of your fulfilment performance. AI agents learn from transaction history. Reliable delivery builds computational trust; inconsistent delivery destroys it algorithmically.
5. Dynamic Adaptation — Your ability to respond to changing algorithmic criteria in real time. As AI agents evolve their evaluation models, organisations must adapt their data, specifications, and operational parameters accordingly.
Algorithmic Readiness Audit
The accompanying Algorithmic Readiness Audit is a diagnostic tool for C-suite leadership teams, developed by Paul F. Accornero. Unlike IT audits focused on internal risk, it is a strategic readiness audit designed for CEOs and commercial leadership — measuring the enterprise's ability to win customers and build competitive advantage when algorithms evaluate suppliers.
